Monthiversary Calculator

About This Calculator

Early in a relationship, couples often count in months rather than years — and each 'monthiversary' is worth a small celebration. This calculator shows how long you have been together in years, months, and days, so you can see exactly how many months you have reached and how far into the current one you are.

The monthly milestones matter most in the first year or two, when a lot changes quickly. Knowing you are, say, one year and four months in — with the fifth-month mark of the current year just days away — is a nice prompt to mark the occasion. Because the calculator also gives the total number of days together, you can track day-count milestones alongside the monthly ones.

Elapsed time is counted using the real length of each month, so the month tally is accurate rather than assuming every month is the same length. The calculator also rolls forward to your next yearly anniversary and names the weekday it falls on, so you have both the monthly and the annual view. A 29 February start date falls back to 28 February in common years.

To use it, choose your start date and press Calculate. Your time together, total days, and next anniversary appear instantly, computed privately in your browser with nothing sent anywhere. A future date is rejected with a clear message.

For the annual view specifically, the relationship length calculator and dating anniversary calculator use the same engine with relationship-focused wording.

How It Works

  1. Enter the anniversary date (for example, a wedding date).
  2. Click “Calculate”.
  3. See the time elapsed and the countdown to the next anniversary.

Formula & Methodology

The result is worked out as follows:

Elapsed = years / months / days since the date; Next = days until its next yearly return

Time together is the complete years and months from your start date to today, then the remaining days, using real month lengths so the month tally is exact. A total-days figure and your next yearly anniversary are shown too.
